My newest craigslist story...so I was selling something for $40.  The lady emailed and asked if she could get it for $30 because she was driving a long way to pick it up.  Not my problem, but I wanted it gone so I said ok.  So I got to the place we were meeting and waited.  And waited.  Then she texted and said she was running late.  Fine.  Then I wait more.  I texted back and said that I would need more money since she was wasting my time.  She got attitude.  She finally shows up, and I told her that I wanted the full $40.  She gave me attitude, but agreed.  No I'm sorry, nothing.  I wanted to smack the tacky diamond stud out of her cheek.  Yes, cheek. Grrrr.

I should add a disclaimer...I don't feel that ALL facial piercings are tacky.  Some people can TOTALLY pull them off.  This particular one, on this particular girl, was tack-tastic.

    No disclaimer necessary!

    Agreed

You just never know who is reading our posts, and I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea.

Ugh.  I just got some feedback from one of my "calls" this week.  Apparently, something I said came across in a totally different way than I intended it, and they decided not to move forward with me.  The recruiter called me and asked about it, and even SHE knew that it must have come across in a different way than intended.  I think they're going to go to bat for me and say that there must have been a miscommunication, but I guess we'll see.

Aaaaannnndddd...I just got a rejection email from the other call.  F today.

I'd come over with a bottle of wine if I could.  Instead, here's a {{hug}}.  Those weren't the right jobs and you would have hated them so this is a blessing in disguise.  The perfect one is out there, I promise.

I think facial piercings are tacky.  Just like I think excessive tattoo's are tacky.  That's my opinion.  If someone has a problem with my opinion that's their problem.  They don't have to share it, and my opinion is hurting no one so they can just move along.  Haters gonna hate.  ;)

I know.  I just didn't want to put the stress on G of having to support me until I find a job.  I'll already be taking out a HUGE chunk every month for my stupid high car note, so until I have a job I won't be able to contribute much of anything (besides cooking and cleaning services!) for a while.  I just don't want him to feel stressed about it, you know?

Hon, he loves you.  He knows its a temporary thing while finding a job, and I guarantee he thinks its well worth it to have to closer to him.  I've never met him, but I know he adores you and he's a fabulous guy.  You deserve this great catch!

  • I'm having dinner with my best friend from HS/college tomorrow (Weds).  I'm really excited, but tomorrow will be my last day of driving for a while.  I measured monday--there's about 2 inches between the steering wheel and my belly.  I'm totally freaked out about getting in an accident and the airbag going off.  My legs are just too short to move my seat back any further.

That response might or might not have made me tear up a little bit...

Thanks.  I know he's ok with it.  I just know how it feels to be taken advantage of and I don't EVER want him to feel that way.  I'm sure I can do things to help around the house and earn my keep.  I just want to make sure that he knows how much I appreciate him and the sacrifices he is making too.

Can you move the steering wheel at all?  Or angle it in a way that would be safer for our sweet Em?  Yes, I claim her. :o)

Awwww!! This made my heart smile! And I totally forgot about the steering wheel. I think it can go up a tad bit, so I will definitely do it!

  • When ever I type out a long response, my phone deletes it and won't let me post! :( SO, G should be expecting to pull more weight than you for a while. You are uprooting your entire life for him, he understands and you are at least TRYING to find a job. Just remember he loves you, and things will work out! Feisty, get some pedal extenders! Haha. Hopefully this shows breaks in sentences....
  • I need help with a wedding present for my bestest girlfriend back home. They didn't register anywhere, they have lived together and already own their home. He is a nerd, and she is very vintage-y.. & they are going on a cruise for their honeymoon. Must be around $300. GO!

Can you purchase a really huge gift card that they can use on their cruise/honeymoon?  I know a lot of things are all inclusive, but there has to be some stuff you spend $ on.  I've never been on a cruise, I may be wrong.  Or purchase an excursion for them in one or several of the ports they stop in?  Like ziplining or a helicopter ride around wherever. I'm sure she's mentioned what they want to do while they are there.  I'll keep thinking...

  • So my steering wheel was already up as far as it could go.  Peddle extenders may work for the short term.  Booo!!!!

C is going to El Paso for trial in a few weeks.  I am super bummed.  If it takes all week he will miss our breastfeeding class.  Luckily mom said she'd go with me.  I'll stay out at my parents while he's gone, but I DON'T WANT HIM TO LEAVE!!!!  He was in El Paso today to try to talk this client into pleading because his case is a guaranteed loss (drug trafficking/murder/drive-by) and all the other defendents have pleaded already and their client is the head guy.  Stupid idiot.  He's not pleading because his "mother had a dream".

What about 2 different gift cards?  One for tigerdirect or amazon, and the other for etsy or some vintage-y boutique?  Or maybe an assortment of gcs to their favorite places to eat?  That could be awesome to get 6 $50 cards to different places!

Well I asked for details on the cruise, but I get a lot of "idk". Soo,I'm gonna say that's a bust. Would give them an AMX gift card, but they will charge a hefty fee.

Where will you be wearing it?  The wedding?  I think it could be really cute...I would try to find it in the store though to try on.  The pattern could be a no-go IRL.  (what do I know, though?  C and i realized that I have 2 dresses and 1 skirt in the same basic black and white floral pattern...and our bedspread is that pattern/those colors as well.  I'm clearly in a rut!)
