A big new story here is that a woman from an upscale community was found strangled in her car in the city of Detroit. Her husband is a "person of interest". Lots of rumors have come out, including that he (they?) had a sex dungeon, was into S&M etc. His lawyer held a press conference today and started it off by making "dark humored" jokes. I started paying attention after he (the lawyer) said "I'd like to clear up the rumor that I was involved in the S&M under the nickname Shorty, and that doesn't refer to my height".
I can't find the whole press conference online. Everything I can find starts shortly after he said something like "I apologize for my use of dark humor, sometimes in times like these it's what gets you through".

I have an idea for a new cake/filling flavor combo-chocolate cake, coconut buttercream and chocolate ganache fillings with almonds. Like Almond Joy. In a cake.

Can you put in the freezer so when it's just cold enough you can peel off the chocolate and eat the good stuff. That's how I eat my almond joys :-)

I do so many kid's cakes that I don't sell too many "adult" flavors. One of my favorites that I do now is turtle-chocolate cake, chocolate ganache and caramel fillings with pecans. I have had 1 person order this one 3 times because she likes it so much. Most people don't order stuff with nuts for kids' parties.
Ummm I would so totally go with you all. No kids, No DH, free as a bird, well minus the dog, but I can pay a dogsitter!
I have a milestone birthday coming up this year. I don't make a big deal of my birthday, but I'll be ordering a very wrong almond joy cake for this. Mark me down for October ;-)
Even Almond's wrong way, that sounds amazing. If I was still in town I would totally volunteer to taste test for you.

I was so proud of myself, up until an hour ago. I had managed to keep it together all day and be semi-productive. I fell apart at 3 and have no clue what triggered it. The past few days have been rough, and now I have worst headache from the amount of tears shed this week.
J's office has been wonderful though. He has strict orders to not go in next week and take care or me instead. (no need to take vacation or sick days)
It's totally OK to cry. You're going through a big loss and it's only natural to mourn. Not to mention your hormones are in full effect. Please know that you can vent/cry/scream with me if you need to. I've been there and it sucks. Allow yourself to rest and get rid of the headache.
That's really awesome of your DH's employer. Just rely on each other for moral support over the next little while. Big hugs.
