Deep (and not so deep) Thoughts-Say Anything
Re: Deep (and not so deep) Thoughts-Say Anything
They did the exact same thing to us. We ended up getting the phone and just not using it at all because it saved so much money, but it made absolutely no sense at all.
When we moved canceling our service was a nightmare. They wouldn't let me do it, DH had to go into the office on our way out of town. We got our final bill in the mail and it had a $200 early termination fee on it. Apparently we were a month away from our 2 year "deal" ending. I can't even talk about it because it makes me so angry. I can only imagine the notes they have on our account about me.
I had no desire to go with Comcast either, and Uverse isn't available in our neighborhood (sob!), so we went with DirecTV. DH did a comparison between them, Dish, and Comcast and found it to be the better deal as well. We've been very happy so far (Hello, whole house DVR!). We have our DSL through AT&T (with our phone), but I think you may be able to get that through DirecTV as well.
I had continuous service problems with them when DH was deployed & my TV was something I needed to distract me during that time. Everytime I would call for service they'd ask to speak to DH b/c his name was on the account. I would explain he was deployed to Iraq & they would basically refuse to work with me. One person even asked me if I expected to receive special treatment just because DH was deployed. Call me crazy, but I don't think expecting the cable I pay for to work special treatment.
So, Kimmer, you think they have notes on you. By the time I was done with them, they not only offered to cancel our contract, but were begging me to cancel & not do anymore business with them.
Our account was in Gary's name and I can count on zero fingers how many times he ever called them. He spoke to them one time giving me full access to our account, and that was it. I changed, upgraded, downgraded, complained etc about our account for 4 years and never had a problem. They always had me verify his information, which was fine, but he never ever talked to them.
When I called to cancel they told me I had to go into the office, which thankfully was pretty close to our house. I went into the office and they told me I couldn't do it that either Gary had to come in, or I could call. I was able to return all of our equipment, but not cancel the service. So I called from the parking lot, talked to a complete moron and decided to leave before I ended up on the news.
So I went home, finished packing our moving truck and Justin and I got on the road with our moving truck while Gary went in to cancel our service. When he was in there the exact same lady that told me I couldn't cancel our service said that she didn't know who told me that I couldn't do it, but she could clearly see I was authorized on our account and that I could absolutely have canceled our service when I was there returning our equipment.
Good luck!
What's wrong?
My youngest dog decided to eat an unknown number of paintballs (green) last night while we were out. Called the vet, paintballs are generally non-toxic, but spent most of the night monitoring him. He was up several times going to the bathroom, no other symptoms.
I leave this morning for work, NBD, but we were still a little worried.
My DH is supposed to take his written test for his Private Pilot license today so he slept in a bit and was woken by projectile green dog vomit. Awesome. Call the vet who tells us to bring him in if he throws up again, but we should be through the worst of it since it's been 8ish hours. Meanwhile both toilets spontaneously overflow (?!?) Apparently they are doing some work on the sewer line by our house.
I tell him I'm going to come home to watch the dog so he can get a way before he has to go take his test, he says no, you don't have to. I decide to pick him up lunch and head home, because we have no groceries. My truck breaks down about a mile from the house at a stop light. I push it through an intersection into a parking lot and call him to come get me. He is understandably upset, as I'm piling on to this shitty day.
Come back home and the dogs have found the paintballs AGAIN! Take both dogs to the vet. IV fluids and stomach pumping. Expensive bill.
He goes to take his test after all this and can't because we are now apparently overdrawn. I guess I lost track and some bills were paid before I thought I had scheduled them. BLAH! Just a whole lot of suck piled onto suck.
I ate leftover 7-layer dip from Superbowl for lunch today. Yum!
That calls for something harder than wine. So sorry you had such a crappy day.
Wow. That's definitely a tequila kind of day.
Perhaps this will make you laugh...
DH's coworker has a cat who had kittens a while back. They are of age to find new homes now, and coworker has family in Dallas. DH & coworker are carpooling to Dallas this afternoon.
With an open cardboard box of kittens... LMAO.
Yes, just two normal forty something men driving 5 hours with wild kittens.
my photography blog
I attempted that with 2 cats once to go to the vet. I can not imagine 5 hours with a box full of kittens!!! They need to video tape it. Can you picture them stopping at a drive thru?
I snacked on some Love Dip myself.
I'm sorry. Hugs.
Thanks for the sympathy. I appreciate it, greatly.
Good news, now...
Moved some $ around and DH was able to take his test and did great on it!
Got back to my truck and apparently it just ran out of gas. My light never came on and it said I could go another 40 miles, but put gas in it and it started.
Still going to be a 2 margarita night, but at least it wasn't ALL bad.
Glad things are looking up, hope they continue to get better
Glad things are heading in a better direction. enjoy your margaritas!
7107- I'm glad things are better!!
Unrelated- I made oatmeal raisin cookies today (well I baked them) and they are DELICIOUS. I shouldn't eat all of them right?
aren't you supposed to be carb loading?
I am, I was just looking for validation
It's not even 9AM yet, this should not be me:
Yuck! I just got a bad bite of a chicken mini from CFA. ::shudder::
This is abosolutely me today. Rough day yesterday, rough night last night, rough morning and I'm in no mood for anyone.
Misery loves company. I'm glad someone can commiserate.
Can I join you? I had a work snafu that is eating me alive because I freak out about that kind of stuff. ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG.
