Say It Again...Say Anything.
Re: Say It Again...Say Anything.
that doesn't sound right to me w/it being laminate. i had laminate in my house in houston + 6 dogs. never scratched......my house here has solid wood and it scratches sooooo easily. but i knew it would. if i had laminate, i wouldn't expect it to scratch (maybe get chunks taken out from dropping a heavy toy like you said but not from using the swiffer???)
That's the thing dana, I got laminate because I thought it would last. More than 90 effing days. The toy - that's fine. It was a heavy metal tractor that C drove off of the coffee table. But now, we're constantly taking toys away from him, and making him play in his room because I'm afraid of more scratches and nicks. I'm going to raise some serious hell later.
I vote rude. My ex-manager (who I don't really get along with so I'm not sure why she's on my fb) is due in May also, and wrote "Let's see who makes the first appearance" on my fb announcement. I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were STILL competing with me.
They make wallets now that have foil or something in them to protect your card numbers from being stolen by people with scanners. This is a huge problem at airports, apparently.
I agree, i thought that was one of the perks of getting laminate. we had it in our old house specifically so that the dog wouldnt scratch it. we didnt spend the money on real wood in this house (did tile) for the dog/kid factor.
i hope you get a positive response from the floor company.
last night i was driving us home from dinner, and we were in the neighborhood almost home.
i do not know HOW i spaced out, but i stopped at a red light, by the elementary school, and my brain just reacted as though it was a flashing red light. i stopped, then went. DH yelled "STOP!" just as another car (with a green light was coming through the intersection. i was mortified, and i have no idea WHY i hit the gas. absolutely no explanation. i just totally spaced out.
i literally could not sleep because i was thinking about it all night, and the fact that the oncoming car would have smashed into the place where Connor was sitting in the backseat.
I wasn't goofing around, talking, texting, or even singing. I was just driving, staring at the light. Super brain malfunction. I still feel like dirt.
my photography blog
I've done something similar - where I have run a red light and not realized it until I was underneath it. Like, not trying to "beat" a yellow or anything, but just not realizing it was even there and it was glaring red. I was so thankful no one was coming the other way. Definitely shook me up! I have also saved someone from running it the same way - I was saying her name as we got closer, and she didn't notice it, then I finally was yelling for her to stop and she did on time, but was like "where did that light come from!?". It's definitely something that is more common than you think - so don't feel like it's just you! Just something that happens and you get lucky on and makes you more careful later! :-)
I had a wreck like that when I was in HS, I was on the way to my Yale interview. Yeah, I didn't get into Yale, I can't imagine why. LOL
Afterwards I had no memory of the few seconds before I hit the other car (I wasn't hurt and neither was she, so it's not like that's why I didn't remember). It was just like I blacked out for a second, had a seizure or brain malfunction or something--- except I didn't, or at least I don't think I did. I just wasn't "there." Scary.
My new OB moved up my appt from Weds to this afternoon because of spotting that's been going on for about a week. DH has a meet and greet (that was scheduled just for him, so he can't really cancel) at his new job at the same time, so he can't go with me. I'm a hot mess about seeing a new doctor and the spotting and it's worse because DH can't go with me.
But the name of the road the office is on is called Big Beaver Rd., and that makes me giggle.
Ditto Kris's But Big Beaver Rd made me LOL
Oh please tell me your doc has a name that fits the practice and the road! My aunt once had a gyno who was deaf and read lips - for real. Cracked me up every time.
LOL I'm hoping the practice is named "Big Beaver Obstetrics" oh lord the advertising slogans they could come up with!
Kim- I hope the spotting turns out to be nothing, keep us posted.
Some people just have a knack for making me irrationally angry.
Lolz!! Hugs to you, hope everything is ok.
The spotting is nothing, baby has a good h/b and is measuring on track with my last u/s (which is about a week off of my LMP). Apparently my uterus just likes to keep me on my toes. Good times. Thanks for all the good wishes
The doctor didn't match the street name, and neither does the practice name. BUT if you take the freeway, you'll want to take exit 69. So, Big Beaver Road is exit 69 off of I-75. <commence giggles> Oh, MDOT, you're so funny.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why I am so danged tired. I took my b12 shot yesterday morning. Felt great all day; got tired towards the end of the day. Slept well, without the aid of Ambien! But I am dragging today. Ack!! I could lay my head down on my desk and just nap all day long!
So I'm wondering why I need to come into to work tomorrow when all I've done today is played around online. I've done nothing work related whatsoever. I finished all of my hellish deadlines yesterday. This has been the longest day history, and tomorrow will be 10 times worse!
Are you buying a real tree? Unless you are looking for a specific or fancy tree, I doubt they will be sold out on Friday. We've gotten them a week before Christmas before.
You must have us confused with another board if you think there's even a remote chance of that happening.
I can make something up.
Please. I'm stuck here until 3 with nothing at all to do.
No I'm buying an artificial tree (I'm allergic to real trees), but the one I wanted from Target is already sold out. I found an alternative from Home Depot, and I don't want them to sell out as well. I wanted to put it up today, and have my cats get used to the tree without ornaments, and then decorate the tree on Friday or Saturday. I decorate 3 or 4 trees a year that I wanted to get a head start on mine. The only specific tree I'm looking for in a tree is I wanted a more narrow tree.
Ahh...that make sense. GL!
