Re: Say It Again...Say Anything.

  • Love when people I know lurk and don't tell me they lurk.  Lame.  Yeah, yeah, I get it's a public board, but still lame.

  • My kick ass nephew (the 11 year old who dressed as rick astley for halloween) just got back from a bigfoot hunting trip in OK. He went with his dad as bonding thing, at Cameron's request. They weren't interested in shooting bigfoot or anything, just seeing if he's out there. They stayed in a cabin that the owner said most people leave terrified in the morning from the noises (big foot screams and stuff) they hear at night. We're going over tonight to hear about the trip and I can't wait.

**disclaimer-we are not a crazy family of bigfoot people, but I admit it's more fun to believe they exist then don't. there's no fun in reality sometimes.

Yup.  I have some good news I'd like to post in the Good news thread, but since I have a mysterious IL lurker, it will not be shared.

I love our HR department.  I missed open enrollment because I just forgot to do it.  I only use our FSA benefits.  One of the HR directors emailed me to see if I was still planning to use the flex spending and what amounts so they could put me in.

  • I kind of want to die right now.  We use DH's health insurance.  We haven't done open enrollment with them for years because we never change anything.  Well, the deadline was Friday and I saw the form on the counter today that said EVERYONE must re-enroll this year.  FUUUUUCCCKKKK!

To top it off, my open enrollment deadline was Friday as well and since I don't use our insurance, I don't change anything.

I have a frantic phone call and emails into my HR department to see if I can still get on.  Praying they say yes.

Does the "change in status" thing count here since you technically "dropped" DH's insurance? Good luck, Harm.

Crisis averted.  1) My company has fabulous HR people and they were ready to enroll me.  2) I called DH's company and they said no prob and sent me the forms.  PHEW.

  • the place i moved to had extensive damages from those tornadoes that passed through MS/AL back in April when 300+ people died - the 2 EF5's passed directly over the plant i work at. electricity was knocked out. the plant was down for close to 2 months (that is a *huge* deal in this industry). many people i work with were affected (i moved here a few weeks after the storms)......needless to say, any time a storm comes through, people get a little jumpy. especially considering that the path the tornadoes took in april was a near duplicate path of similar storms that came through this area almost exactly 30yrs prior......it's storming right now and our emergency PA system just came on saying we're under a tornado watch until 6pm. everyone is a bit spooked

  • My parents were over at our house last night while I was putting Cooper to bed.  Pre-bath we ask C if he needs to potty, he usually does and all is good.

Well, if he doesn't lean forward far enough pee goes everywhere-- except in the toilet --it's like a little sprinkler.  My mom, who only had girls, thought the whole thing was hysterical and was laughing so hard I thought SHE was going to pee, which in turn made Cooper think it was hysterical.  I swear he squeezed out extra pee just so grammy would laugh.  God bless the inventor of clorox wipes.

they had a blast. it's a tiny town with one store and a dumpster. you hear things in the night, one night something stood behind them and snorted twice but they didn't catch a glimpse of what it was in the dark. Cameron swears he saw a dark tall figure about 13 feet tall (it was near a pole they later measured at 9 feet) staring at him. They found a huge footprint like track in the daytime. it sounded like fun actually, terrifying to be out in the dark with the unknown but still fun.

I did Paula Deen's chocolate bread pudding a couple of years ago and it was divine.  Chad loves bread pudding... It's probably his favorite dessert, but that's because it doesn't normally have chocolate in it.  lol

I'll have to give Emerill's a try; it sounds super yummy!
