  • i'm super excited.  i just got contacted about newborn pics by an adopting mother who lives in massachusetts, and her baby is being born at the hospital by my house soon.  i was tearing up while on the phone with her.  she may even have me come in and photograph the day the baby's born... birthmom  and the bio dad's mother will be there.  the way she talked about describing that day to her baby one day when he asks... oh my gosh.

    i freaking love my job.

You get to do some seriously amazing stuff.  Lucky!

  • i really hope it all works out... i have a wedding the weekend of the week the baby's due.  if there are no complications and everyone's healthy, i should be able to make it happen.  seriously, stars aligned.  they had no idea i lived out here (it's the hospital where DS was born!).

    Incredible.

  • Sitting here "studying" for my new job... I just realized I don't think I'd posted in here after all the changes in our company.  The product/project I've been working on for the last 4 years has had development halted on it and they're now giving the product as it is away for free.  You do have to pay for support, but they don't need 4 people to do support for the product.  Since they made the announcement at the beginning of October, I've literally only worked 2 tickets. TWO.  That's a whole lot of money they're paying me to sit and do nothing all day.  I was given a couple of options, the two top ones being to learn the "money maker" product and support it (which means a new platform, new product, etc) or find a new job.

When I talked to the CEO and the VP of Product Development, I mentioned that I was interested in doing technical writing/documentation but because they start out much lower than what I currently make it just wasn't possible.  With our department going away, they told us we wouldn't lose our current pay no matter where we go within the company so I thought this might be a good time to get out of a job that I don't enjoy at all anymore.

Last week I had an  interview with the documentation manager in our company... And she said she's in favor of me coming to her team... So, in a couple of weeks I'll be leaving the career path I choose 10 years ago to start a new career.  I'm horribly NERVOUS but really excited! (And she's given me all kinds of books/little projects for the next couple of weeks to get me prepared and out of the normal "passive" way of writing)

What did you do for your outing?  we have 2 choices that I'm vascillating between...

option 1: have a t shirt made that says "Class of 2030" across the chest with a little graduation cap down on my bump and the announcement will read "FI and I are excited to announce the newest member of the graduating class of 2030" or

option 2: a pic of me and FI with him holding a mini chalkboard/dry-erase board that says "Coming Soon" with an arrow pointing at my tummy. (thanks pintrest)

I'm nervous too.  I realize you can't "jinx" a pregnancy, but it's such a huge announcement...what if something goes wrong down the line?

  • I drastically changed my haircolor last night and one coworker just will.not.shut.up about it.  He keeps asking everyone "have you seen KrisB's hair?  Go look at KrisB's hair!"

For the love of all that is good and holy, I want to punch him in the throat.  I'm usually a nice person who gets along with everyone but he drives me fracking nuts.  I spend my days having to listen to him either slurp coffee or spit into his spit cup.  The sound of his voice makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a pencil.

Whew, that was a tyrade.  I need a drink and it's only 8:00 am.

    image
  • Bt your hair is so amazing!  Everyone must stop what they are doing to see it ; )

I am finally going for highlights today.  I have no idea what I'm doing, I may go just all lighter blonde.  I do not want any dirty-dishwater hair on my head.

  • AF is late again.  I'm almost positive it relates to my increase in running as my cycles have gotten longer and longer as I've gotten more serious.  But I can't handle the stress every month.  I'm calling today to talk to my insurance company about Essure.

I had no idea that existed.  Definitely looks like a better option than a tubal ligation (which I planned to discuss with my OB at my next check up... I seriously hate condoms. Sad ). Although DH brought up trying for a boy last week.  I'm pretty sure the look I gave him told him I might go crazy and stab him in his sleep if he brought it up again. LOL

  • I am a *** this morning.  I don't know what it is.  I am developing either a migraine or a tension headache but can't tell which it will be yet.  I have floaters so I'm afraid it's a migraine coming on.  And I'm switching from the patch to a progesterone BCP because of mood swings, and deciding to give myself an extra week so I'm not on my period for every holiday in the foreseeable future so I think the hormone fluctuation doesn't help.

The post about stressing about turning 30 conjured up some super snarky (unnecessary) comments in my mind - I feel like I need a crankyoldbitches board to post on.
